Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies its results. Harrison County Criminal History does not retain or log those query terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to us may be kept long enough to review and answer it. We do not disclose the message outside our organization unless a valid legal duty requires disclosure.

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Harrison County Criminal History does not maintain, compile, or sell a personal criminal-record database. It identifies official access routes through Harrison County record offices, the courts, the West Virginia State Police Criminal Identification Bureau, the West Virginia Division of Corrections and Rehabilitation, and the West Virginia State Police Sex Offender Registry. The website is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into a consumer report or a record about another person.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information entered there is governed by the provider's privacy policy, retention rules, and sharing practices rather than this policy. Review those terms before sending a query because we do not control the provider's systems.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Harrison County offices, West Virginia courts, WVSP, WVDCR, registry resources, legal organizations, or outside search services. Once a visitor follows an external link, the destination's privacy terms apply. Review them before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select ads. Their tracking is not operated by Harrison County Criminal History.
